5 Powerful Signs of Spiritual Strength

Covid brought to light a significant revelation: the lack of readiness and resilience among believers. The wheat was separated from the chaff. Unfortunately, it became evident that some succumbed to the challenges, lacking the necessary preparedness to stand firm in their faith and fight the good fight.

It’s not only important to be sitting under the right leadership (church), but we are also called to be strong and stand firm in the Word.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Get ready to explore the five essential habits of mentally resilient believers!

MENTALLY STRONG BELIEVERS

  1. We Do Not Fear or Shy Away from Change
    1. If things are not changing in our life, there is a problem.
    1. God expects us to increase, be in production, and have fruitfulness.
    1. We should be growing and changing.
    1. It takes faith to make changes and move forward instead of just staying stagnant.
    1. The enemy wants you to keep doing the same thing over and over and stay in the same place.
    1. Challenge ourselves to move higher.
    1. Do something to stretch our faith to please the Lord.
    1. If the vision you have can be accomplished on your own without God, this is not living in faith.
    1. Have a vision where ONLY God can help you accomplish.
    1. Look for change, as change initiates an upward movement.
    1. If you are easily able to coast through life, it’s time to increase weight – more faith is needed.

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

  • We Don’t Sit Around Worrying About Things That We Can’t Control
    • This is the biggest waste of time.
    • An example would be sitting around worrying about the trouble the government is causing.
    • Rejoice and give thanks to God because we are NOT in that economy anyway!
    • We are in seed time and harvest economy.
    • People are not our help or hope, this includes who will be the next president.
    • God reigns above all, there is NOTHING that He can not do for us.
    • Read the Bible, in the Old and New Testaments, regardless of what the government was doing God would bless his people.
    • It’s not what you do, it’s the spirit in which you do it. You can use wisdom and prepare for the future as long as it’s not out of fear.
    • Are you in fear or operating in faith?
    • Did you fight over toilet paper?? Um, were you one of those people freaking out.
    • Make sure you have a house of peace.
    • Give ZERO place for the spirit of fear in your heart or home.
    • If you do not get the Word into you, you will be afraid.
    • If all you hear are self-help sermons and no teaching on walking in faith, you will live in fear.
    • Do not let worry overtake your mind and soul.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

  • We Do Not Resent the Success of Other Believers
    • We do not compare ourselves to others and then get bent out of shape when others are blessed.
    • If someone has a setback, we should be bothered and help them where we can.
    • One of the biggest keys is celebrating the success of others.
    • Do not complain about someone else getting something that you are praying for.
    • We cannot get blessed when we harbor resentment.
    • Lord if you won’t bless them, don’t bless me…
    • Faith works by love; without faith, it’s impossible to please God.
    • If I’m out of love, I’m out of faith, then I’m in trouble.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:33)

  • We Do Not Fear or Avoid Alone Time
    • There are some people that cannot be alone; this is a problem.
    • No mentally strong believer is afraid to be alone.
    • This is when the Lord speaks to us.
    • Jesus would go out into the wilderness by himself, early, before dawn to be alone to pray to the Father.
    • Jacob also took time to be alone before his name was changed.  When he was finally alone seeking the Lord, it was then that he had an encounter.
    • Get rid of all the zillion distractions and take time to be alone with the Lord.
    • Refuse to let past mistakes make us afraid to be alone.
    • Gain victory over our thoughts.

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. (Matthew 6:6)

  • We Do Not Expect Immediate Results
    • There is a seed time and a harvest time.
    • There is a time of waiting before the harvest.
    • There is a season of being faithful.
    • This is where the devil can derail people.
    • Remember you don’t change in one workout at the gym, it takes time.
    • God can do things quickly, but we are to stay faithful, pressing in and seeking the Lord when things don’t happen on our timeline.
    • We all have a due season from our faithful sowing of faithfulness.
    • Don’t let the devil talk you out of it, don’t let your family talk you out of it – stay strong….

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

SO HOW DO WE STAY STRONG?

The most powerful scripture to memorize and do daily – Put on the FULL armor of God. Understand who you are in Christ

  1. Fill yourself with the word of God
  2. Pray in the spirit at all times.

EPHESIANS 6:10-18

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
