His Faithful Love Endures Forever

One of the greatest things for every person to grasp is the great LOVE that God has for us. For many of us, it’s way beyond our comprehension, because it is such a magnificent gift. Looking at the scripture below, this principle is so powerful that it literally could be a lifelong study and discovery.

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. (1 John 4:9-10)

I bring this up because in the previous post we talked about the authority God has given to us and speaking to our problems. Before we can take authority, one of the main things we need is an understanding of God’s love. There are different levels of this love as we grow in our relationship with the Lord.

Sometimes it may be difficult for some of us to comprehend God’s love because of our background, our past hurts, feelings of being unloved, abandonment, and other painful situations. The pain and hurt of the world can prevent us from receiving God’s best. I remember when I first became a believer someone wanted me to read a book about God being our father. I couldn’t even read the book, because of my past pain and hurt with my earthly father. I couldn’t even imagine or grasp the love of a father.

One thing that I have learned and know is God is NOT like a human being with flaws, disappointments, and earthly pains. God is perfect, whole, His love never ends.

He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:13)

The only way for us to receive God’s love is by being in an intimate relationship with God and learning who HE is. There will be more posts about this because throughout the Scriptures it shows that God desires everyone to be in a relationship with Him, so all of His love cannot be contained in this one post.

God’s love is everlasting, compassionate, gracious, faithful, and kind, and His love for us endures forever. Part of developing our relationship with God is reading and knowing His Word. If we know the Word, we will know who God is. Joshua 1:8 tells us to meditate on God’s Word day and night:

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Meditating on God’s Word means that we think and reflect on the Word of God. As we think about it throughout the day, we look to see how we can apply it to our circumstances. Meditating is savoring each word that God speaks.

Today let us meditate on Psalm 136 and get a revelation that God’s faithful (loyal and steadfast) love endures forever and ever…
