With A Single Snap, Biscuits Can Start Flying

WEEK 1 WITH A SINGLE SNAP, BISCUITS CAN START FLYING

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. [Jeremiah 29:11].

QUOTE: God doesn’t break things so He can fix them. He fixes broken things so He can use them. (Bob Goff)

For many years, I was one of those people who made life look easy; when I wanted to do something, I somehow always made it happen. I became one of the very few women avalanche forecasters in the world and even had a search and rescue dog trained in avalanche, water, and wilderness. I started and ran a successful women’s business organization, was in excellent health and shape, and had created businesses well over six figures, which gave me the freedom and ability to live in a Colorado mountain home and own a beachfront condo in Belize. My life was awesome!

Then, with a single snap, biscuits started flying everywhere and everything in my world changed. I felt as if my entire being was ripped from my soul and that I would be changed forever. I felt as if I would barely recognize who I was, if and when I came out of this. I went from living the lifestyle that I loved, with money, time, and freedom, to being absolutely mortified, standing in City Market (my local grocery store) with a Colorado guest card (AKA food stamps) and taking a bag of that government-provided, shame-filled food to my one-person tent in the woods—my new “home.”

What the heck happened and how will I ever pick myself up and start all over again? Being fifty-something, I had worked all my life for the lifestyle that I had previously enjoyed. Then, just like that (snap), everything was gone. At that moment I became completely numb. Yes, life does happen, but this time it was different. This time I could sense this was going to be a longer journey and a bit harder hike than I had ever been on. I knew it because I was not only numb, but all my energy, joy, passion, excitement, and determination were also gone—which was a first for me. Little did I know that I was actually about to embark on the wilderness hike of my life!

My story ties into a silent virus or epidemic, that is sweeping our country and around the world and possibly has been since the beginning of time. It’s even more dangerous than the flu yet goes unnoticed by the media. It sneaks into your life without you even knowing it and destroys you from the inside out. It’s a virus that you can’t capture under a microscope, but you can identify it by the symptoms. It’s something that causes women to make unwise or even devastating decisions. It is a debilitating force behind women being drawn to, and staying with, abusive men. It is an energy so strong that it effectively prevents women from becoming who God designed and created them to be. Interestingly, this is not considered newsworthy, even though it is silently destroying people every single day.

This powerful force is what YOU think about YOU. Yes, believe it or not, you’re thinking possibly could be slowly and silently killing you—without you even knowing it! Some of your thinking patterns may be strongholds that the enemy tries to infiltrate into every heart and soul around the world.

WITH A SINGLE SNAP, BISCUITS CAN START FLYING

Ok, I’m going to start out being real. This biscuit-flying season humbled me to my knees. To be honest, I wasn’t sure those biscuits would ever stop flying or that I would actually come through that season alive. However, I obviously have, and it has given me firsthand insight into this debilitating disease and how the enemy uses it to wreak havoc in our lives. This experience has shown me what really matters, both in business and in life, and has groomed me to become more compassionate and understanding.

Those flying biscuits taught me lessons that I didn’t even know I needed to learn. Most importantly, it strengthened my relationship with the Lord, allowed me to develop Stellar Thinking, and ingrained in me the deep meaning of YOU ARE WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE!
