You Have a Choice
Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven. [Luke 10:19-20]
QUOTE: Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says, oh crap she’s up…
The main Scripture for today is powerful and shows that YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE about what you think, believe, say about yourself, and what you decide.
We have a zillion opportunities every single day to make choices, and sometimes the results can be good or not so good, based on our minute-by- minute choices. I don’t know about you, but there have been seasons in my life when I wondered who was the fool who made that choice? Then there were seasons that I knew without a doubt, I had heard from the Lord and made the right choices. This chapter is about recognizing and knowing that we do have a CHOICE. The choices that we make originate from what we think about, and what we think about ourselves, and ultimately who we think is in control.
It is also good to recognize where we tend to make crummy choices, because this is where the enemy is going to try to sneak in. Some of my not-so-good choices and biggest life mistakes have revolved around men; oh, yes, remember my six foot, pony tailed blond guy and the sailboat? We need to be on high alert and make sure we ask the Lord for guidance when it comes to making choices in those areas that typically cause us to stumble.
The quote I used this week is a reminder of the choices that we WANT to make, choices that are based on God’s leading and direction. These are choices that will make the devil flee, because you are CHOOSING to not put up with his lies and junk. So, he might as well get lost, because he is wasting his time with you, because you are a child of God, a woman who has God confidence, and a woman who believes that she is who God says she is!!!
YOU HAVE A CHOICE
- To an extent, you have a CHOICE on how you plan your day, what you will do, who you will serve, who you will bless, or who you will hurt or disappoint.
- You have a CHOICE on what you will say and do each day.
- By CHOICE you determine how you will use each twenty-four-hour gift. No one is given more or less; we each have been given the same amount of time.
- You have a CHOICE on what you decide to look at from TV, magazines, to internet sites, marketing photos, emails, a hot married man, Instagram images, Tic Tok or YouTube videos, Facebook posts etc. etc.
- You have the CHOICE on what you will allow to enter your mind and what words flow out of your mouth.
- You have the CHOICE to listen, take to heart, or discard words people say to you and about you.
- You have the CHOICE to be very discerning on what you listen to about God, politics, health, pandemics, disasters etc. No, you cannot control what others are saying, but you can decide who you will listen to.
- You have a CHOICE on what will shake you or can CHOOSE how to respond according to God’s word.
- You have a CHOICE on what you think about and what you THINK about YOU.
- You have a CHOICE on words you speak to YOURSELF and to others.
- You CHOOSE whether your words are life-giving or words of destruction.
- You have a CHOICE on how you will react like a mad woman or if you will STAND FIRM during biscuit flying seasons.
- You have a CHOICE every day on what attitude and thoughts you will have when you get up out of bed.
- You have a CHOICE on how you view God when things don’t go your way.
- You have a CHOICE to be self-led or God-directed in your daily life.
- You also have a CHOICE whether you foster a relationship with Jesus, dig deep into His word, or be just be a pew warmer, or to totally discredit the truth – IT’S ALL A CHOICE.
Every single day, all day long we are bombarded with choices, along with people and media who want to make our decisions for us.
- You have a CHOICE to trust God, or you can crumble when the first biscuit starts flying.
- You have a CHOICE whether you run to a girlfriend, gossip, or you run to God when those biscuits start flying.
- You have a CHOICE to stand firm with integrity on God’s Word and continue with your obligations, commitments, and responsibilities while biscuits fly, or you can become so overwhelmed that you let things go while YOU try to deal with the flying biscuits.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE: My sisters, biscuits are going to fly, the stupid enemy is going try to deceive and lie to you, there will be unexpected twists and turns on this journey.
It is YOUR CHOICE to keep that daily Holy Appointment, or you can simply choose to believe that you are too busy for God.
It is YOUR CHOICE to believe what the devil says, or you can choose to believe: YOU ARE WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE.

QUESTIONS TO THINK ON
- What are some decisions that you regret?
- How have these decisions affected you, or have they become limiting beliefs?
- Have you truly forgiven yourself for those decisions? If not, take time right now to forgive, even if it is difficult to forget.
ACTION STEP-T-CHART: For me personally, when I have a big decision to make, I like to use what is called the T-Chart. Take out a piece of paper and a pen (yep, not your cell phone). On the top of the page write what the decision is. Make one big T on the page, then split each side in half by drawing a vertical line down the page. Write on the left side one option and then plus and minus, and the on the right side, write your second option with a plus and minus. So, you should have four lanes on your paper. Then you just start writing all the positive things about each option. Then go back and write all the negative things. This gives you a good visual about the choice you should make. Of course, most importantly pray and ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment about this chart and your decision.
