Most Important Revelation You Can Have!
KNOWING GOD’S LOVE IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT REVELATION YOU CAN HAVE AS A BELIEVER
This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart because sadly there is so much confusion and distortion in our churches about who God is and many people don’t understand how much God loves them and therefor, they underestimate their value and worth.
When I was a new believer, someone gave me a book called Abba Father. This book was so difficult for me to read because I didn’t understand love, let alone from a father. I was comparing God’s love for me with the lack of love that I had growing up from my earthly father. Therefore, I couldn’t understand or comprehend God’s love at all, and I certainly couldn’t imagine God being a loving father…
So I’ve been on a journey and still am on
Understanding the Love of God – The Most Important Revelation You Can Have…
which is the title of my talk today.
This is such a vast topic of study and discussion, so I’m going to break this down into three main points based on Ephesians 3:16-19, my favorite verses for the love of God.
My prayer is within the next few minutes we have together YOU will catch a glimpse of the importance of understanding Gods loves for YOU.
- HOLY SPIRIT POWER IS ESSENTIAL! I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. [Ephesians 3:16]
Here in the first passage Paul is trying to emphasize is that we cannot understand God’s love for us without the power of the Holy Spirit.
That’s what I was trying to comprehend the love of God with my own natural thinking and comparing my earthly fathers love to God’s love. I think many people probably do this because they aren’t even aware of the Holy Spirit let alone realize that He is available to help us in everything in life.
The thing is we can’t do anything without the help of the Holy Spirit; so that’s why it’s essential to have the Holy Spirit to help us comprehend the magnitude of God’s Love.
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong [Ephesians 3:17]
This isn’t a casual acquaintance with God’s love. Paul was speaking of an intimate understanding and experiential knowledge of the depth of God’s love.
What I have found is that the love of God is like tree roots, that provide stability and nourishment. The revelation of God’s love becomes the foundation on which everything else we receive from God is built on.
- MAGNITUDE OF GOD’S LOVE
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. [Ephesians 3:18]
This is my favorite part of these profound scriptures. It’s encouraging us to seek the power to understand God’s love, because though with our carnal pea brains it’s impossible to do so.
I loved God, but I really didn’t understand that He loved me, that He actually liked me, He wasn’t disappointed with me, or mad at me, or even surprised at all the mistakes that I have made.
Look at what this scripture says: how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
What is incredible about God’s love is it’s not like human love, we can’t compare human love to God’s love. Human love is contractual which is based on what we do or don’t do. God’s love is a covenant love which means He loves us regardless of what we do or don’t do. Amen
- WALK IN THE FULLNESS!
God isn’t out to get YOU. He desires YOU to have a life of abundance and fullness.
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. [Ephesians 3:19]
This journey of understanding God’s love should be experiential and not just obtaining head knowledge. When you have that experiential understanding of God’s love, this is when you can be filled with all the fullness and power of God.
Walking in the fullness means you are free from condemnation, guilt, shame or regret, that you can approach God boldly and confidently, that you receive ALL of His promises, that you know you are a loved child of God, and believe YOU ARE WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE.

LET’S REVIEW THE 3 CONCEPTS OF GOD’S LOVE
- Know that Holy Spirit Power Is Essential: it take supernatural power understand God’s love fully.
- Understand the Magnitude of God’s Love: If only we could understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is, and that God’s love it’s covenant not contractual.
- Walk in His Fullness: once you get a revelation and experience the Love of God we can walk in His power and fullness
In closing it is my prayer YOU will dig deep into the Word and continue to see how much He loves YOU as this is the most important revelation that you can have!
