Six Essentials For Renewing Your Mind
Many of the negative thoughts in your head are lies from the pit of hell, and you have a choice NOT to believe them!!!
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect [Romans 12:2]
Renewing your mind is more than just changing your thoughts; it’s about aligning your entire thought process and perspective with God’s truth. This means allowing God to transform the way we think, so we can see ourself, others, and the world through His eyes.
You may be thinking, why is this important?
We need to remember that all of our attitudes, beliefs, and decisions start in our minds. This is also the place where the enemy tries to attack us. Without renewal, we may remain stuck in patterns of thinking that can hold us back, distort our identity, and keep us from walking in God’s fullness. But when we choose to renew our minds, we unlock the ability to discern God’s will, experience His peace, and live a life of purpose and victory.
Today I would like to share with you 6 Essentials for Renewing Your Mind. These are revelations backed with scriptures that have helped me over the years think more like God thinks!
ESSENTIAL #1: THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT
What was your very first thought when you woke up this morning? Most people don’t ever think about what they are thinking about or remember what they were thinking. We have the power and the choice to accept or reject the thoughts that come into our heads.
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. [2 Corinthians 10:5]
ESSENTIAL #2 LIVE IN YOUR NEW NATURE
One of the best ways to control our thoughts is being mindful about what we watch and listen to. This includes podcasts, YouTube videos, social media, news, music, books, and even teachings. If something is polluting our mind, tempting us, or bringing us down simply we need get rid of it, period. Listen to what Ephesians 4:22-24 tells us to do.
Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God truly righteous and holy [Ephesians 4:22-24]
ESSENTIAL #3: GUARD YOUR HEART
When a thought enters your mind, quickly discern if it’s truth or a lie. Don’t entertain the enemy’s deceptions—kick them out before they take root in your heart. Lies believed in your heart will shape your actions and decisions. Bottom line: if it aligns with God’s Word, keep it; if not, reject it immediately.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. [Proverbs 4:23].
ESSENTIAL #4: CONFIRM YOUR THOUGHTS WITH SCRIPTURE
If you are not sure whether your thoughts are negative or positive or a lie or truth, the best way to confirm it is by checking it with the Word. What does God say about that thought? What does God say about YOU? Do your thoughts line up with Scriptures?
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. [2 Timothy 3:16]
ESSENTIAL #5: CHOOSE TO FOCUS ON STELLAR THOUGHTS: What are Steller thoughts? What are thoughts we should focus on? This short power-packed passage of Philippians 4:8 tells us exactly what to think on…
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart. [Philippians 4:8 AMP]
ESSENTIAL #6: USE OUR SECRET WEAPON: The most powerful action we can take is to speak and exercise our authority through the Word of God. This is our weapon in the spiritual battle, for we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the strongholds in our minds. God’s Word is the authority that breaks every lie and claim of the enemy, empowering us to stand victorious in the spiritual realm.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. [Hebrews 4:12]
**In Closing…** Take a deep breath, be kind to yourself, and know that renewing our minds is a daily lifetime process, we are transformed by capturing one thought at a time, through the help of the Holy Spirit within us.
